Book of the Month | May 2019: “Nibbles the Book Monster” by Emma Yarlett

Our 6.5 month old is a bit young for this title, but he still inspired our choosing it since, like Nibbles, he’s gnawing on e v e r y t h i n g.

This is definitely one of the coolest, most fun kids’ books I’ve ever come across. Nibbles is an adorable but mischievous little monster that chews his way through his own book and 3 fairytales, changing the storylines of those classic tales as their characters watch Nibbles wreak havoc.

Toddlers will love this naughty, energetic, and visually thrilling read not only for its rollicking ride but also because of how interactive it is. The stories-within-stories are physically inserted into the pages of this book and cutouts and flaps literally guide little readers to follow Nibbles on his adventure.

At $16.99 this book is worth every penny for its creativity and execution alone, but luckily it also manages to deliver a lovable story on top of the bells and whistles. Nibbles is sure to become a favourite bookshelf friend that will have kids and parents coming back again and again.
